Camera Lucida – Garden Treasure

Welcome back to week #14 of Camera Lucida Photo Challenge

Watering Pot

This week’s theme: Garden Treasure

a piece of ground adjoining a house, used for growing flowers, fruit, or vegetables
a quantity of precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects.
Watering pot

I’ll be very honest and say that gardening never was my strong side…it’s quite relaxing in a way but I could never call it a hobby…a way of life…or a must:)

What does fascinate me is the visual perspective of everything that relates to gardening…there is something that attracts the eye…and it’s not always the end product.

The muddy boots…the old watering pot that has been used for generations…the colourful utensils that have a bigger purpose than just to dig and cut or just break the soil…

This week your challenge is to share what is your garden treasure…it is your beautiful and personalised box of gardening utensils…maybe your secret corner of heaven…a rare flower that makes you proud…your dirty boots and gloves…

What is your garden treasure…how does your garden reflect you?

Share this week a piece of you…maybe a little secret that you’ve kept hidden behind a beautiful evergreen pot:)

Camera Lucida – Divergent

Driving through parkway

Divergent things.  Obvious ones, driving through parkway seemed too easy.

image

The beginning and end.   The pointed looking thing at bottom right is the omega.   The seeds developing fir next year’s bloom.   The round alpha is the bud waiting for its chance to bloom.  Nevermind the  white things they aren’t part of this.

Close up of a telescope!

Old (1812 version) and modern way to make 51 cents.

Fire and ice! Who didn’t see that coming?

image

Sorry,  I don’t mean to be negative here but. .. fire and ice reversed!

Leaving with a different thought.

Your an image clutching time.”

Camera Lucida – Out of Place

The poor carpenter’s bee is below the white shape on left.  He’s caught in spiders web.   The orb weaver is waiting on the right in yellow and black.

Needless to say flamingos and Santa Claus.

Camera Lucida- Journey

‘Camera Lucida’ – Journey
by Julia
Welcome to week #6 of Camera Lucida Photo Challenge
Journey ( Colour )
Journey ( Colour )

This week’s theme: Journey
Origin
Middle English: from Old French jornee ‘day, a day’s travel, a day’s work’ (the earliest senses in English), based on Latin diurnum ‘daily portion’, from diurnus (see diurnal).

1 – An act of travelling from one place to another

1.1 – A long and often difficult process of personal change and development

“Angel came down from heaven yesterday.
Stay me long enough to rescue me.
Told me a story yesterday, about the sweet love between the moon and the deep blue sea.
Then she spread her wings high over me.
She said she gone, now come back tomorrow.”
Angel by Jimi Hendrix

A journey must start somewhere…

image
What are you doing with that suitcase??!!

Sneaking out the door is not always an option.
image

“Fly on my sweet angel” (chorus of above song)
image

Stay in a strange place.
image

Face the coming dawn. …
image

Plan an important meeting to get the day flowing.
image

Find food!
image

Then wander in the wilderness
image

image

Once your day underway. Take plenty of pictures in case you don’t come back!
image

Drink plenty of fluids.

image

Chase the last light of day!
image

Look for night life.

image
Where's mine?

Double check the list of souvenirs!

And dream of next journey. ..

Camera Lucida – Black and Green

‘Camera Lucida’ – Black and Green
by Julia
Welcome to week #5 of Camera Lucida Photo Challenge 🙂

This week’s theme: ‘Black and Green’
I took these pictures last week and every time I page through my collection of Nature snapshots I stop a bit more and admire the simple but amazing features that our environment can express.

This week’s theme can be anything black and green that captures your attention…might that be a new piece in your wardrobe, your favourite flag, a beautiful plant within your garden that you care for a little bit more than for the rest…or just let your imagination go and play a bit with photoshop 🙂

Your entries should have the colour black and green in the photo…and anything else that inspires you 🙂

I am very excited to see your interpretations of this week’s theme and admire your work at The Gallery!

What will be you B & G?

Contrast between green. The lone survivor of a vicious deer attack, a baby ear I’d corn against green and black granite.
image
If we are talking green in August, you going to see plants. Graceful papyrus leaves try to camouflage the black grill. The evergreen is a blue spruce but it adds texture like the weeds.
image
Begonia leaf and rabbit foot fern do they’re best to cover the black pot.

However, someone was making noise. In an effort to include a live animal. Mama the black Manx cat! I should have given her a smaller bill. Look at her! I’m not sure she’s giving it back without a fight. Where’s the catnip?

Camera Lucida – Nature’s Dessert

image

Week#4 of the Camera Lucida Photo Challenge. Thus week’s theme: The Nature’s Dessert. Answering the question of what is your fruity juicy?

My choice is more of the liquid type. These people in Kentucky spend years crafting bourbon. Good stuff takes 8 -12 years to age in a charred white oak barrel. Why take short cuts here?

So my fruity juicy flavor would be lime. The little guys sliced in half do just fine. But some days it’s hard to find a good lime. That’s why there’s limeade!

The tartness of a lime is prefect mixer. It’s not over the top lemon, but brings flavor out of liquors. If bourbon (whiskey) is too much that’s always vodka.

Camera Lucida – Rose

‘Camera Lucida’ – Rose
by Julia
Welcome to week #2 of Camera Lucida Photo Challenge!
Rose
Rose

This week’s theme: Rose
Rose
1 a prickly bush or shrub that typically bears red, pink, yellow, or white fragrant flowers, native to north temperate regions and widely grown as an ornamental.

2 [ mass noun ] a warm pink or light crimson colour

Give us your best interpretation of ‘Rose’!
… might that be a beautiful red flaming rose; a warm pink fragrant candle; a white rose petal resting on the sidewalk; your favourite rose colour fashion piece…or just a snapshot your multi-colour rose garden.
Tell us the story behind the image…is it a memory or a sudden emotion!?
How to join us?

Follow your host and share each week your own vision of the theme.

Create a new post with the title CAMERA LUCIDA followed by the theme name.

So I’ll start with a rose.  A knockout rise who got almost knockout by last winter.    This is the last sprig.

image

By a rose by color, not flower.  Well I ran through the crayola box of pinkish.  My baby hibiscus isn’t pink but his pot sharing manadovela is

The Echinacea wants it moment in the sun as well

Dahlias in two tone cone closest to rose in my biased color vision

HERE BE THE DRAGONS! (Oh snap..dragon)

image

Treed a bigger hibiscus in the right shade

But lets face it a rose by any other name, would be laughable.
