Reblog – Algae Blooms Strike Florida

This is a growing problem.  The Great Lakes and several impounded lakes suffer from the same problem.  But there is no given reason in this story

Edmund Fitzgerald

imageStrange things happen this time of year.  Storms come in a shapes and sizes.  In an anniversary note, forty years later an ore carrier disappeared.   Really just was gone. Way before GPS, computers weren’t connected to everything.  Storms could disable a ship but on the Great Lakes rare for ships to go down.

But forty years ago…the SS Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared.   It took a long time to find.  The memory of one of the largest of its kind lives around docks like Cleveland and others.  The wreck has its own soundtrack by Gordon Lightfoot, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”

The ship broke apart taking 29 lives. The ship may have taken on water before striking ridges on bottom of Lake Superior.
