Hourglass
The pinch in the hourglass
My eyes live there
I have a model of perfection
It teases my last feeling
There’s a trap within all of us
We pretend it doesn’t matter
Fools believe I this is true
The taste of forbid fruit
It remains strong after we think
Issuing excuses for why
But never replacing the temptation
Someday I will taste that moment
I hang on the moment forever
My heart beats to get me by
My eyes live in the hourglass
Random phone picture
Perchance
Can you make me forget?
I look to escape the day
Thoughts tease what could happen
Reality whispers what will never occur
Lines separate here and now
Fragile dreams dance upon breezes
My obsession clings to maybes
I ask again, can you make me forget?
Yesterday is a complex knot.
Things once held power crumple
Dreams lay upon the ground in pieces
Hopes nothing but ties that bind
Doubts flavor the air upon your breath
Wanting to be part wastes on the vine
I seek roads not to be traveled
Responses without form of measure
The moment golden in distant light
Things served negligence steeped with desire
Thrills within the hidden places of the heart
To bask in warmth of could be’s
The price of release far outweighs the cost
