I have danced this dance
Fallen backward knowing
The landing always awkward
But the recovery blissful
It’s the assertions within the music
Questions the rhythm of the gears
Dreams are always a soft landing
When they leave you sailing perfect
But every dancer falls
Falling in style, a memory
In a land far away, we took apart a great nation. Hundreds of thousands died & were wounded in the hope a nation born to be free could overcome itself. Today, we should look back to see were we came from.
Following the American Civil War, in 1868 the first national observance of a regional traditional event gained ground. Tokens & personal mementos were placed to honor those who lost their lives in battle. Honoring the dead was not an option but the survivors duty to respect ther fallen.
We can not hallow these grounds ad those who came before us gave so much. (paraphrasing here). Whether you have served (thank you) or not, it’s important we remember. Families were shattered to preserve what wer have. I can not, will not participate in the strife of today on this day. We call it Memorial Day on US. Past is forgotten ad it may offend.
Ther Confederate States of America handed is this day (and Department of Justice too). Honor was part of their society, so were other things we don’t wish to carry on.
Thank you to those in harm’s way. We can never repay you for the sacrifices
