Home

it’s your stuff

choking the walkways

More sitting  places than necessary

Too few empty places beckon

Recognition things from where

knowledge of when that matters

Pictures that exist on walls defying mind

Memories creeping down halls

Plants oblivious growing on tables

the familiar shadow of a corner

A home has walls to hold things in

Collections of memories are bricks

Stronger than concrete

They define home

      1. There was a mattress pad under the blankets and a comforter. They all have claws. Fortunately, two of three don’t hold grudges. One has a habit of pawing your head in the middle of the night, not to claw you just to let you know she could.
