When it’s Time

I tell myself I’ll know when

I lie to myself, it’s easier

Someday is an illusion

The dream of waking always is
I craft my world

Matchsticks glued

Cardboard bases hold

Ashes of the past
I will wake tomorrow changed

Life will be constructed from it

Imitations of life wonder by

My light will chase their shadows
I tell myself I’ll know when

Future is more than past

Today is not a memory

Time is not a notch on a stick

  1. “Time is not a notch on a stick” and want to remember this – worth thinking about. As I get older it seems the days are on count down. Days turn to weeks, weeks to months, months to years so fast.
