There’s a place into which we seek shelter from the storm of life. Most of us have more than one. There are reasons for that. Some storms are live at a certain address. But that’s a different story.
Today, we look into the greening world of Mark’s swampland estate. In deeper understanding of this, I have a stray cat next to me helping provide the gem of a cold wet morning dew. (I wish I could share but this app has, enough issues at times) We have several local birds making the rounds at the feeder.
The bright green leaves of the oak hide a flock. All birds of a different feather. The smallest, the wren sings out near one of his four nests. The ladies get to pick out one, or move on. Chickadees, sparrows, and tufted titmice buzz bright red Cardinals and much larger Blue Jay’s. Cooper’s Hawks yell at each other in the distance. A loud truck on the road out front dispatches the flock. Like tiles in a video game, they shift and reassemble with the colors all out of place.
The plant world is shaking of that long winter hangover. The trees flex their new leaves. They have a jingle sound. Maybe like a dancer with bells on their costume. Pink and red columbine bloom are graceful stalks swaying along with the breeze’s rhythm. Peace pushes away the rest of the world.
Plunk! The silent frog forgets I’m out here. He starts to sing. No one answers. But a stray cat looks his way.

I like to share the yard pictures. With about 4 acres, I’m lucky enough to have woods and open places to. The writing is just an extension of nature

Thank you darling. It is a little wet and I haven’t got the flowers in yet. But the garden is set. The birds are crazy. Frogs can be heard through the windows. It’s the best time of the year. 😃

I was trying to imagine not having to go to work and staying there all day. It didn’t work.

Aww, that’s a shame. Retirement will come — eventually and it will be worth it!

Yep. Thirty and out is an option still. Hopefully, noone in congress changes anything between now and then.

You have almost 30 years in at your work? That is awesome! Yes, hopefully, Congress doesn’t change anything.

That’s a long time to be working at one place. Thirty years will come before you know it because they do start going by fast!

I hope so. The first few did and is a blur the last ten. I’m planning an escape for a couple years. I can work somewhere else

You are going to quit your job before you retire? That’s scary.

No I’ll go my full thirty years before I retire. Then I’ll find a part time or easier job. It would nice to do it in a better area.

I hope you are able to move to an area you are happier living in.

I’m hoping to end up out west where I can be outside more months of the year.

Yes, that would be ideal. I hope that works out for you. It’s pretty out here!

I have been there long enough to know where I want to be. I can afford a small place even if my wife isn’t working.

That’s probably all you need is a small place anyway.

If I have to look really hard to find what is on the horizon, there will be room outside

Oh yes, there will be a lot of room on the outside!

I need a rattlesnake picture, too. I have my close up with a bear, alligator, tarantula, so that’s next on list

Oh my gosh, not me! I won’t get close to a rattlesnake. LOL! A rattlesnake bit my brother’s dog and she died because of it.

They aren’t friendly animals and would rather bite you than take a picture with you. Hahaha!

Maybe if I am nice to one. You know offer it a mouse, or chipmunk, treat a rattlesnake like a normal pet. It wine act like a person and snap fir no reason. 😉

Why don’t you get your picture taken with those huge snakes (Boas) that are docile? Or is your heart set on a rattlesnake?

I have snake pictures. But venomous creatures are special. I have really bad picture of a water moccasin. He was eating a frog. The wife was yelling at me the whole time. I was six feet away and he wasn’t giving up his lunch to bite anyone

Hahahaha! He wasn’t giving up his lunch to bite you! LOL! Guess that’s what you have to do with a rattlesnake. (It gives me the shivers just thinking about it).

After being ten feet away from a black bear in back country in Texas. Wildlife doesn’t scare me much. I respect what they could do to me. I would never corner any animal but if I get a chance to snap a picture with one I’ll be happy

That’s good they don’t scare you, especially since you want your picture taken with them.

I mean a picture of them. It’s hard enough to get a snake to smile. Let alone talk it into doing a selfie with me

Hahaha! I can just picture you and a rattlesnake taking a selfie together! LOL! Yes, get a picture ‘of’ them with you in the background.

I think his head would be attached to my leg in a selfie or picture if I turn my back on him

I’m pretty sure that is what would happen. He would try to be eating you in one gulp.
