Shadows

Shadow

Quietness.
My side of the light is silent.
          I wait behind you.
We move together
    but we are never twins.
I carry your dark side.
  I stretch.
I twist.
   I turn.
     All those things
noone should see in you.
That is what I am.
Some day I will turn on you.
The light that keep me off of you
           It will fail.
We will be alone.
      You won’t see me.
            It’ll all be dark.
You then will be my Shadow

  1. Interesting take on “shadow.” I like how it reveals things about this person that are hidden. Twists, stretches, turns, that the person is capable of but are only done by his shadow. The last two lines are very powerful. “It’ll be dark and then you will be my shadow.” An ominous ending. Also, I love that you did shape poetry.

    1. I was going for short story. Buy once it got choppy a staggered poem looked better. Let’s face it shadows are our dark halves. They are shape shifters. Can’t trust them in the dark. ūüėČ
