Delvin hurried through his day. Nine PM was coming fast. Too many things left undone. His clumsy efforts did not provide the deliverance of his dreams. In a dark person place, He turned to his single cask bourbon, tucked in a flask to evade detection.
Tonite he was nervous. His chance to set his notch with an engagement to his Sofia. The center of his galaxy, Sofia. Lofty goal she was.
The plan wrap the ring in a chamois. He was showing up uninvited. The surprise would be great. He was so nervous. He never thought about possible jeers from her friends.
Nice! Great use of the words. Hopefully, things will work out for him as planned.

I think I seen the proposal theme somewhere… The words made me do it really. Ok the combo of cask, chamois, and invited just led to a what do you hide in a chamois after a few drinks that may not be the best idea moment. 😉

That was a hard one, I myself could not get it in, I titled the piece Apple-Chaser and described a character but I couldn’t use it in the poem to my satisfaction

Poem are far more challenging to me. A story can breath life into itself. The poem seems more a vessel to be filled than a vessel I create. I guess when inspiration comes the details get moved around naturally.

I know what you mean about a poem being a vessel to be filled but I find writing poems a lot easier myself.

Maybe my mind prefers chaos. I enjoy reading both. More practice in poetry makes it easier to do.

I enjoy reading both also, but poetry comes a little more naturally for me when writing. I did write stories for a while but it has been years since I have done so consistently
